I know that for most {myself being included}, time is of the essence in the mornings. I am usually all for more time in my bed-often hitting the snooze button one too many times. As a lover of sleep or lack thereof… I am all for lazily laying in my bed as long as possible- I have been known to lay there until the last minutes of cutting it way to close to being late. Since I love to make the most of my mornings, sometimes that extra snooze button hitting often conflicts with the nature of actually getting ready for work. So for this week’s beauty challenge I decided to devise a quick 5 minutes face that gives you a natural, awake look but can be done quicker than you can say “Abra… cada….bra….”
First things first after cleansing your face, you naturally move towards toning skin, and moisturizing… However I found a mixed hybrid step that allows me to skip this step….I have found a perfect foundation/powder/moisturizer hybrid that is a solid one pump of my new favorite holy grail of a wonder foundation Hourglass Cosmetics Immaculate Liquid/PowderFoundation, {review here}, then a small dime size amount of my trusty CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Day Lotion SPF 30, warmed up in my palms and then applied with the hands. This tends to give a really nice coverage and a slight perfect glow as the foundation dries into a perfect powdery finish. I tend to spend a bit of extra attention to the under eye area, as this is a great foundation to enhance more coverage {medium to full coverage}. I use the Sigma F84 Kabuki Brush which has a perfect shape to dig right into those under eye areas. Since this is a powder finish…. Skip the powder. Solid 1 and 1/2 minutes down… with 3 and 1/2 minutes to go.
When it comes to cheeks, I have been having a HUGE love affair with the JosieMaran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee {review to come soon}. I grab my trusty Real Techniques Buffing Brush. A few dabs into the pot and a slight dab action onto the tops of the cheeks to help create some rosy cheek action. Best part about this step with the buffing brush is that if you tend to apply too much… you can always buff it out. LOVE!!! Cheeks done… 2 1/2 minutes left to go….
A quick swipe of ELF Cosmetics Jumbo Eyshadow Stick in Little Miss Thang on the inner corners of the eyes, under the brow bone, a dab on the cupids bow for some quick highlighting and that –Hello I am alive and awaken look. Two swipes of mascara to the lashes- and voila you are ready to head out the door… However one last step as your walking out the door…. LIPS!!! A great grab and go option is Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Lemonade, gives your lips a moisturized step with a bit of a sheer wash of light pink-ish nude color. Very neutral color so no need for mirror application if you wish to cut down on time even more. By this time you have hit the 4 maybe 4 ½ minute mark… giving you 30 extra seconds to grab a slice of toast or a few spritzes of your favorite perfume. In total less than 5 minutes, 1 brush and a total of 6 products used… Patting myself on the back, for another challenge accomplished. Not too shabby…
