An area that I am always at wonder with is in the area of face oils. As the seasons change, obviously my skin feels the need to change. I at times can be super oily; but at most my skin –when behaving is along the lines of normal to combination. My skin tends to be a bit of oily on the cheeks and forehead, but dry on the chin, and around the nostrils. I know, I know… my skin at times is super weird and extra temperamental. I often change my usual routine up from time to time, as when the skin is a changing- my products must as well. Based on my constant skin care love professing, it is a bit obvious that I have a bevvy of moisturizers and face oils within my stash. I like to call it a “working wardrobe of skin”; but what I have recently revived from the stash might just be one of my favorites yet. Ladies and Gents; you may want to sit back, relax, and grab a beverage- this may be a long one…. And let us re-christen the “moist must have duo of skin”…
As the weather is changing and my skin is reacting quite oppositely; I have started to change up my nighttime skin care routine. After much trial and error {hello skin freak out session} I have finally found a moisturizing nighttime duo that has been leaving me moisturized, plump, and looking ever so refreshed. The duo I have been reaching for lately has been One Love Organics Chia Whip** and Supercritical Chia Oil.** When you think of chia, many tend to think of chia pets, I promise you now-this will not make your face grow hair. In fact what it will do, is literally bring back the life into the skin. Chia seeds contain many health benefits for both inside and outside the body. Chia seeds might just be hands down the richest botanical source of Omega 3 fatty acids; offering more than your Fish Oil and Flax Seed. Lately many skincare lines are starting to incorporate omega fatty acids into skin care as it is showing significant results in helping moisturize the skin as well as anti-inflammatory properties, giving skin a plumper barrier to help assist in holding moisture longer. Say goodbye dehydrated skin. Now on to the good stuff….
One Love Organics Chia Whip** has been in constant rotation in my nighttime skin care routine for some time now. It helps deep clean the skin, without leaving it dry and flakey. Its is a multi- tasking worker as it deep cleans all while hydrating the skin in just the right places; leaving skin without that tight, overly clean feeling. I am obsessed with the thick, foaming lather that it creates out the gate. Once applied to the skin, it is like serious heaven. It is fragrance free- which I am huge fan of; and it also contains Aloe Vera and rosemary extract {which we all know has been known to help rejuvenate and stimulate the skin}. This cleanser is to die for. It is seriously the most luxurious, creamy-foaming cleanser I have ever tried. I can see myself getting quite lazy when it comes to my current skincare cleansing routine. I used to start with a cleansing oil to break down the makeup, and day from the skin; follow it with a nice cleansing. But with the Chia Whip, I tend to see myself removing the eye makeup and cleansing- skin is refreshed, ultra clean, and hydrated perfectly.
One Love Organics Supercritical Chia Oil**, is hands down PHENOMENAL. This miracle in a bottle, packs a serious punch when it comes to skin care. It not only increases hydration, but it helps rid the body of itchy skin, helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, and wrinkles and the best part…. It contains vitamin B3 and Zinc which is super important for those that suffer from acne and breakouts. Can you say a huge reduction in acne breakouts- something of which during skin freak out session due to weather change, this is my savior! I apply this after I have washed my skin with the Chia Whip, followed by a quick once over with toner, then I drop 2-3 drops onto the fingertips of my hands. Gently massaging into the skin- down the t-zone, cheeks, and patting into the forehead and décolletage. My skin absorbs the oil instantaneously; leaving NO greasy residue, no overly greasy areas- just pure simple, beautiful skin… love, love, love! This is light enough to use during the day under makeup, when you feel that your skin needs that extra boost of moisture for the cold, chappy winter months; but packs such a punch for nighttime moisture.
Quick note- I use this moisturizing duo currently for my evening routine. I can see that it may be making an extreme appearance come winter and I will probably add it into the morning routine as well. So there you have it, my super skin saving duo of a moist must have- Chia Seeds galore, begs me to ask the question- have you chia’d today?
