Part of the 2013 autumn releases for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, the Bobbi & Katie Paletteis hands down a beauty. A collaborated palette from the great minds of Katie Holmes and Bobbi Brown; inspired by the “girl next door” this features very natural- ‘no-makeup’ essentials for the woman on the go. Containing eight eye shadows, two Pot Rouges for the Lips & Cheeks and a classic eye liner- this palette is perfect for an easy day look with a easy transition into night within minutes.
Not too long ago, I was browsing through my People Style Watch Magazine and my eyes widened and excitement started to grow in me anxiously awaiting the September launch of the Bobbi + Katie Palette– $68 USD. Then when I received the email from Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, showing that the much coveted palette finally had been released for sale, I was in instant awe and ran out to get my hands on this beauty. Two stores down and a solid month of usage later, this palette is very much becoming my go-to favorite for simplistic, timeless makeup. Rich in color, and a few neutrals- this palette had me at hello! I know introduce you to The New Thing: A Lady Affair- Bobbi & Katie Palette…
Offerings of classic and timeless shades that are impeccable for all skin types, this palette is a serious must have. Trust me, if you can get your hands on one, you will NOT be disappointed. Packed with a great array of shades in both eyeshadows and the Pot Rouge for lips and cheeks {L-R, top to bottom} : Pink Chiffon {medium shimmery pink}, Brown Sugar {shimmery brown mauve}, Pink Quartz {warm champagne pink}, Ballet Pink {light pink glitter}, Pretty Powerful Pot Rouge {medium true pink} , Raspberry Pot Rouge {deep pink}, Cream {creamy beige}, Antique Rose {rosy brown}, Stone {beige brown}, Black Cocoa {dark brown sparkle} and Chocolate {dark rich brown} Eye Liner.
A usual neutral option that I often tend to head towards, with a bit of sparkle added to it. I have come to the conclusion that this palette has a bit of something for everyone and every skin tone. I am usually not one to love sparkle- especially a pink sparkle at that, but this palette is more of a grown up sparkle feeling to it. It’s soft and subtle. The color payoff in this palette is amazing in seven of the eight shadows- the ballet pink is just a tinch too light to show up on my skin tone without looking a bit chalky. The Black Cocoa is a bit on the powdery side, but I am A-okay with that, since I am a bit of a dark show-phobic. Overall this palette is a serious must have, if you can get your hands on one. It is super versatile and easy to compliment all ages, and skin tones. Just grab a tube of mascara and toss this baby in your purse, it will start to become your most reached for palette- its quickly becoming a favorite in my stash.
