Looking through the past year of MLL archives, I have noticed I have a ton of products that I continue to use, and a few favorites that have dwindled down and disappeared into my ever growing stash. However after looking through everything I noticed one thing, I never posted anything about a favorite loose powder. Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette, MAC Mineralized Skinfinish have all made a bit of a appearance and made the favorites in the past, FLOWER Beauty Loose Powder has been making its way into my everyday stash recently. However on a recent outing to Sephora I picked up something I might just have to call The Best Setting Powder EVER…
After multiple trial and errors, and testing plenty of loose powders that promise to blur imperfections, set makeup, and leave skin flawless- none have ever wooed my socks off. However a recent release from Urban Decay, has me IN love. Finely milled to perfection with the power to feel weightless on the skin, the Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder– $34 USD, is seriously AMAZING and well worth every penny. This powder leaves the skin silky smooth, blurs imperfections with the best of them, and adds a bit of oomph to the skin while letting skin breathe.
This build-able formula applies to the skin beautifully, without leaving the skin chalky or cakey. Never settling into fine lines, this powder is hands down one of the best powders I have ever tried. Applied on top of the skin, it helps set the makeup perfectly. Not too matte, not too glowy- its just right. Blurs imperfections and creates a airbrushed effect- love! I apply this powder either with a fluffy brush like a MAC 150 for a fluffy, light application of powder or a Beauty Blender for a bit more coverage. All in all, hands down this powder is winning my title of – Best Setting Powder Ever! What is your favorites setting powder?
Brooke @ Blushing Noir says
I usually use NARS Loose Setting Powder but this one sounds lovely! I’ll definitely check it out!
jamie @makeuplifelove says
If you like the NARS one you will for sure like this one Brooke. They are very similar in texture and how they feel like silk on the skin. :)
Laura says
I have been dying to try this!
jamie @makeuplifelove says
You will love it Laura it is sooo super light on the skin!

I usually use Revlon Colorstay pressed setting powder. It gets the job done. This sounds divine.
jamie @makeuplifelove says
I have never tried the Revlon Colorstay Powder. I do love their foundation though :)
Kiss & Make-up says
Sounds rrreally good! I used to swear by the MAC Pro translucent setting powder, but nowadays I just use Catrice’s translucent powder. A fraction of the price but just as good!
jamie @makeuplifelove says
I use the MAC PRO translucent in my kit. It is a good powder. Maybe I should check out Catrices as well :)
GlitteryGlossy says
Sounds like a good product! I love my MUFE setting powder.
jamie @makeuplifelove says
I used to be a huge fan of MUFE HD powder. Do you find that it ever leaves a bit of a white cask though?
GlitteryGlossy says
heck yeah when taking a photo with flash. But without flash? Honey, FLAWLESS!!!!
jamie @makeuplifelove says
ha ha ha.. agreed. Without the flash it is super flawless. I do wish that they would fix it so it can be good without flash. but I guess that is the talc in it. lol
Noelle says
This sounds great. I’ll have to check this out!
jamie @makeuplifelove says
You will love it @Noelle
Nidia Doherty says
This one beats Hourglass in your opinion? That is high praise, indeed!
jamie @makeuplifelove says
@Nidia to me this is what Hourglass Ambient powders would be if they were in loose powder form versus pressed. I am obsessed with the Ambient lighting powders, and find myself reaching for this powder a bit more lately, especially on the lazy days when I want a bit of color since these are more geared to skintone
Phyrra says
I LOVE this loose setting powder. it’s so finely milled.
jamie @makeuplifelove says
OMG @phyrra:disqus me too!!! Hands down amazingness!
Anastasia says
I was just about to ask the same question as Nidia, thanks for answering! ;) I do love my Hourglass powders but I’ve been curious about the Naked line, since everyone seems to be raving about them.
Jamie says
Anastasia the Naked powders are awesome. So super fine milled and sit on the skin beautifully. Like the Ambient powders they blur imperfections and allow the skin to glow. However they are a bit more pigmented toward skin tone versus a subtle highlight. I highly recommend them as they are stunning over makeup or on their own. :)
jamie @makeuplifelove says
@disqus_ytOrJBnQ64:disqus you should totally try it. You will love it. It is seriously phenomenal and so silky on the skin.
Kimmi @ The Plastic Diaries says
