On a recent trip to Ulta, I walked by the fall 2013 polish release from Essie, within seconds I knew that the majority of this collection had to be mine. A collection of six to die for shades, this collection has to hold a few of my hands down favorites to date. After School Boy Blazer, within hours made it onto my tips. Something about this dark, academy uniform blue that just screams FALL!!! It’s a bit of navy, mixed with a hint of black this shade is absolutely to die for. One coat it is pretty opaque and the coverage is phenomenal. Two coats and this color is completely unstoppable and beautiful.
When fall starts to hit the weather forecast, it’s usually a sign to bring out the big guns. Rich, dark, vampy colors start to don the nails as we break out the sweaters and boots. I know that it sounds ultra cliché, but I am HUGE Essie Nail Polish lover. From the ultra amazing shades to the brush that just makes things a whole lot easier to apply- especially when you’re not so great at application to that left hand- I am talking to you right hand! A guaranteed formula that seems to last on my nails for at least 3-5 days with minimal tip wear, I’d like to believe that me and Essie just have a special kind of relationship. Enter fall and a great bevy of beautiful shades to bring to my polish stash; I now introduce you to a bit of Essie Love for fall….

Another shade from the collection I snatched was For the Twill of it. A color like no other comprised with a base of a metallic rich brown topped with a reflective green/purple shimmer. Now I am not one to usually like shimmer, but this color is BEAUTIFUL! In some lights it reminds me of MAC Club Eye shadow if it were a nail polish. I can see it being slapped on my nails in the near future multiple times during the fall weather.
Taking it back to an oldie but goodie Luxedo, is a really vampy beauty. This deep black-y plum looks beautiful on the tips. A bit reminiscent of oxblood mixed with OPI Lincoln Park after Dark, this shade is just dark enough to add that depth you thrive for in the fall, while being a perfect transition color between summer and fall. I might spot a matchy, matchy day in the future with this nail color and a bit of a fall, vampy lip. Just beautiful!!
Another great shade from a previous release is Carry On; this shade is a dark burgundy that is AH-MAZING! This rich cranberry-esque shade with a slight hint of dark berry makes it one of falls perfect go to shades. On the tips this is a slice of perfection to take you from the office to a girl’s night out. Hands down beautiful for fall and beyond.
So there you have it a few of my fall nail lacquer picks. A bit of rich navy, with a few offerings of rich plums or a metallic light reflecting shade- the problem is deciding which one to pick as I enter a week of lacquered up nails for fall. Which do you prefer?
