As we begin to enter the holiday season, palettes seem to be all the rage as each line is starting to make their holiday limited edition collection shine. First it started with a bit of the Bobbi Brown Chocolate Palette, then worked its way to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, and now for palette lusting this week, I am bringing you the NARS One Night Stand Palette. This palette has been trending very hard on all social media sites as of late. Oooooo-ing and Awww-ing while counting down the days til the Sephora VIB Event, in hopes to score one of these babies for 20% off. Well I tell you, the day came and let’s just say now- my cheeks will be primed and ready for any occasion for months to come. I know bring you A One Night with NARS…
NARS One Night Stand Palette is a limited edition, holiday collaboration that NARS did with world renowned photographer Guy Bourdin for the 2013 Holiday. Packed full of amazingness, this palette houses six powders: one bronzer in the cult classic Laguna, one highlighter, and four drool worthy blushes- that have me screaming in awwwww…. I think this might need a last minute second purchase for backup purchases… I entered Sephora with high hopes, and didn’t leave disappointed. Grabbed my palette, rushed to the checkout- and voila… months worth of blush heaven. So let’s breakdown the contents {from left to right; top to bottom} inside this wonderful blushing beauty:· Devotee Highlight {limited edition/new shade}:A beautiful pale, alabaster glow. That when swiped across the cheekbones makes you look angelic and pristine.
· Mistinguette Blush {limited edition/new shade}: this shade looks a bit bright and scary. But in all honesty it is a beautiful matte cool toned pink, that looks beautiful on the cheeks. It reminds me a bit of MAC Dolly Mix almost, but a bit cooler in color.
· Orgasm Blush {permanent shade}: The cult classic shade that has everyone lusting for NARS blushes. I am not a huge, huge fan of this blush a I find it a bit too sparkly and shimmery for me. Take out the sparkle and the color is brilliant.
· Laguna Bronzer {permanent shade}: This is one of my all time favorite bronzers EVER! It’s the perfect shade- not too warm, not too orange or shimmery. Just beautiful on every skin tone and gives a nice healthy glowing tan.
· Deep Throat Blush {permanent shade}: This is up there as one of the my all time favorite blushes from NARS permanent range {this and Sin are top faves} I love this addition to this palette as it is a perfect companion to the other shades. Mixes well with Mistinguette for a more peachy, pink feel. Or mix with Goulue for a perfect blend of peach/pink/mauve-y brilliant blend.
· Goulue Blush {limited edition/new shade}: Ok so this is seriously the most brilliant, beautiful colored blush in this palette. It’s a perfect autumn color, and reminds me if MAC Frankley Scarlett and Sunbasque had a baby. It’s warm, with a tinge of purple undertone, a bit of rose and peach. Perfect to brighten up the face instantly with some color- but beware if you are heavy handed – it is super pigmented. So I would swipe in color and dab on back of hand before pressing the brush to cheek.
All in all this entire blush palette is a much needed addition to my stash, and I can’t be happier. Limited Edition and going quickly, so if you see one in your sights- RUN don’t walk and snag it. Its selling quickly on Sephora for $65 USD, and on eBay sites for double that. Was the palette worth the wait- Absolutely!!!
