Awww…. Fall, the start of all things from pumpkin spiced lattes, sweater season, some of the best beauty trends and of course the much coveted and the ever inspiring and style changing- September Issue. On a recent outing to Target I came across the magazine aisle, and low and behold it was full of September Issue heaven. After standing there for a bit, debating which one(s) to take home- which right now until September 13 at Target if you buy any two magazines (InStyle, Vogue, and/or Elle) you get a $5 Target gift card- score! I picked up any array and got to work, devouring all the amazingness of the what trends from the runway and style makers I need to work into my wardrobe and #InspireFallFashion.
Cruising through The September Issue of ELLE Magazine, the beauty report from the runways of CHANEL to Lanvin, Elie Saab to Carolina Herrera and more it seems as the Fall 2014 season was simple- straight, glossy hair, rocker chic eyes, berry bitten lips, re-vamped ponytails and manis that are out out of this world. Subtle dewy sheeny skin that reflected the oh so gorgeous #iwokeuplikethis look, allowing other areas of beauty to draw the attention- needless to say Fall is the beginning of amazingness. Here are a few trends that I picked up from The September Issue and decided to put on trial…
TREND 1: STRAIGHT, GLOSSY HAIR + ROCKER CHIC EYES: The key to taming tresses that are not naturally straight, is all in the prep. For a sleeker look, I often reach for a bit of Moroccan Oil- gloss + protection = a win, win, right? A quick breezing of the trusty straightener through the hair pulling down ever so gently, and a spritz of some hairspray into the palms of your hands with a quick breeze lightly through the hair- voila…. straight, glossy hair straight off the runway. However when attempting this trend always make sure to include a bit of heat protection products to help ensure that your hair won’t get damaged while trying to test drive the trend. On to the rocker chic eyes- when it comes to eye makeup I am all about a one shade, smudged all over the eyelids. One and done- easy enough for my array of color collection that fit the bill under a one stop shop. Mary Kay Eyeliner in Black is the perfect one stop shop for this. This creamy liner is the perfect companion to straight, glossy hair. Smudged out on the corners, this creamy color is easily blendable to have a solid wash of color over the eyelids. A thin line, across the lash line, and voila!- rocker chic has never looked so easy..
TREND 2: BERRY BITTEN LIPS: When the warm weather rolls around I opt for a fun, bright shade of lip packed action. However once the weather turns crisp, and cooler- it is time to break out the different shades of berry. Whether you fancy a light berry rose, a cherry berry shade or all out vampy berry- the runways were packed full of shades of berry from MaxMara to Dolce & Gabbana- simply amazing shades of gorgeous. A few shades that are topping my lips this fall during this trend are:
- The Budget Buy- Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lip Balm & Liner in Berry Twist- a gorgeous raspberry rose
- The Matte Classic- MAC Retro Matte Lipstick in Fixed On Drama- a beautiful just bitten berry
- The Twist Up Hero- BITE Beauty Matte Cream Lip Crayon in Truffle- a gorgeous dark berry with a small hint of vamp
- The High End Classic- CHANEL Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in #72 Controversy- a deeper shade of Vamp
Which ever shade of berry you crave, all and I mean ALL are equally gorgeous and look perfect on this lips for this #InspireFallFashion. Besides what’s not to love? Berry Please, I think I may have found a new favorite lip shade…
TREND 3: REVAMPED PONYTAIL: Now this trend is one of my favorites. When it comes to hair, I am super low key- and let’s be honest. A ponytail is the way to go on those days when you just don’t want to hassle with the curling iron or straightener. So imagine my delight when strutting across the runways of Valentino, CHANEL and Fendi were ponytails. Structured from straight and polished, to textured and woven- a ponytail was THE thing and man oh man this trend is easy peasy. Just smooth the hair out in the front and gather at the nap or crown of head depending how high you wish the ponytail to be. Tie into a elastic hair tie. The CHANEL approach is to weave fabric into the ponytail a la Cra-esque, for Valentino it was sectioning out the ponytail and adding a bit of tease, and for Fendi it was more of sleek and straight approach. So there you have it, which ever one you fancy- all are sure to take you from day to night within minutes.
Fall is around us, so its time to bust out your sweaters, boots and dive right into working those #InspireFallFashion trends into your wardrobe. I might say, I am loving all three of the trends above. What’s not to love? Grab yourself a pumpkin spice latte, throw on a berry bitten lip and breeze through Fall.
Have you started embracing Fall trends yet? If so, which is your favorite?
