This month’s beauty bag is focused on simple, easy, and quick beauty… I have wanted to put this beauty bag together since the middle of May since I completely changed my usual makeup routine and started a more simplistic approach {I know kind of weird.. considered I am obsessed with products}. As the heat starts to pick up in good old Southern California; I find myself choosing simple over anything. Especially since it is easy for your full face of makeup to melt off with these rising heats… Whether summer has kicked up in full gear like it has in So Cal or if you’re planning that amazing summer jet setting vacay— I wish I was… jealous if you are! Here are a few items that have recently been added in the makeup mix for June…
First things first…. Let’s talk complexion. Now I am always one to start with a healthy dewy glow and slather on some much coveted BB cream {L’oreal you are my fave}; but since the summer weather is in full force and man it is a HOT!!! I decided to start my days off with a nice heaping and dusting of Bare Minerals Ready Foundation SPF 20,now let me tell you this stuff is PHENOMENAL!!! It goes on smoothly leaving skin not too matte but not too done up either. Its light weight, non- creasy and it has SPF 20… {AMAZING} Now I have not always been a fan of the whole mineral makeup craze; however one day I was walking through the mall and popped my head into the Bare Minerals store…{man have they changed} and I ran across this product. Decided to give it a whirl; and I am happy to say that I have and I absolutely LOVE it. This product has great wear time, it has a time released formula that is supposed to help hydrate skin through the day, and the best part… it doesn’t oxidize like previous versions of bare minerals makeup {hello oompa loompa orange}. It stays true to color and I seriously am quite impressed. I have been known to have a heavy hand sometimes, or just feel like I need a dewy skin refresher pick me up mid day… enter… Juice Beauty Hydrating Facial Mist; I am surprised how much I actually like this stuff. {I am usually partial to my coveted MAC Fix +} but received this little gem in one of ISPY Glam Bags. And I can honestly say it is a nice refreshing mist. Containing ylang-ylang, rosehips, and grapeseed oil, this refreshing mist helps tones the skin as well as leave it with a slight dewy {not you just got wet} look. I find that spritzed after makeup application it is a nice setting spray, but it also helped up cake face my heavy hand when needed. When sprayed through the day it is just a perfect after lunch pick me up allowing skin to breathe and feel more radiant. Definitely on my list for repurchasing ASAP when I run out.
As for the cheeks and lips I have become recently OBSESSED with the Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee, I cannot tell you enough how much I LOVE these little Gelee’s. {I seriously need the last 4 to complete my full set….payday can’t come soon enough…} These gelee’s are refreshing on skin and literally are the easiest gel like cheek stain ever to blend. It is has some seriously staying power and is the best cream blush I have found to date that doesn’t disappear on skin after time. It is simply stunning…. Definitely becoming a easy go to staple. As for the lips, I am a natural kind of person. So I usually in hot, humid months keep it simple. Surprise… surprise… Lately it has been a toss up between dabbing my lips with a thin layer of NiveaA Kiss of Smoothness Hydrating Lip Care with SPF 10 and the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Apricot Shimmer. For those days that I want a more punch of color to the mouth, I find myself prepping my lips with the Nivea Lip care followed with a few dabs of the JosieMaran Gelee’s on the lips. Leaving lips with a slightly stained pout, that packs a lasting punch to the day. On the days that I want to keep it very simple and natural, I later on the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector, this product is a staple in my makeup bag and is a constant carry around as it is literally the most simple, beautiful lip balm/gloss out there. It like a perfect marriage of Revlon’s lip butter mixed with MAC Lipglass. It is brilliantly blissful on the lips. I love these so much I have picked up a few extra shades that will be making their way into serious rotation.
Lastly, finishing this beauty bag for the month is a nail polish… I went to the drugstore to pick up a body lotion, and ended up leaving with about 6 of these gems. {Due to large part that they are Buy one get one 50% off and they were only $1.69 each prior to the deal… So I figured no loss if I hate them}. I have found myself going back to the drugstore to snatch up all and I mean ALL the colors of Rimmel London 60 second dry nail polish. Let me just say that for a $1.69 USD these nail polishes have outlasted some of my expensive polishes. The color itself is perfect after one coat usually, but I always add two to be safe. The brush…. OMG!!! The best brush I have EVER used, and it is true to its word- 60 seconds and you are dry. Followed with a coat of Seche Vite and my manicure lasted about 6 days with no chips, and super minimal tip wear. Rimmel London you have a HUGE fan now. The color Red Chili Pepper will be on my tips and toes often this summer; as it is a perfect dupe for CHANEL Holiday. This great orange-y red, mixed with a bit of coral… is just fantastic… {LOVE}
Sunscreen enhanced face powder, a perfect cheek stain, lip perfector for days, and slap some coral colored nail polish on the nails– come on summer I am ready for you….. Bring it on!!!
