Here is the theory behind this mask madness, three masks set to help the skin straight. Skin looking sad, dull, congested or quite lumpy… well then this is for you. I tend to do this on a weekend night like my pampering Sundays and by Monday I am ready to take on the world. We throw a bit of skin un-clogging, with a tad of exfoliation, and topped with some hydration. Three simple tools to skin success- easy peasy.
Masks lately have been playing a hefty role in my skincare routine. Whether it is a mid- week pick me up or a Sunday pamper session, masks have indeed been one of my go to products as of late. My slew of masks are slightly ever growing weekly as a new one that comes out and gives me quit a tickle; but all and all I have been turning to masks when me skin is behaving badly- knock on wood cause right now it is behaving quite amusingly well. Eeeekkk!! I have been trying to develop a solid technique when it came to incorporating masks into the skin care routine and alas I think I found the perfect trio that seems to work for me. Note to self: Only use this technique when skin is looking very drab, or you have an extra hour to kill for some long coming pampering…. Stay tuned ladies for the beginning of a dream trio otherwise known as ‘The Triple Threat Facial’…
Step 1: Cleansing – Origins Clear Improvement; this mask is a cult beauty favorite. The classic ‘deep pore-get the gunk out’ kind of mask used to help dig deep down into the pores and clear those beauties out. Start with a warm towel over skin to open the pores, layer on this baby using a old foundation brush for the time applicable and rinse off with a warm wash cloth. This mask is perfect in helping get skin in line ASAP with the active charcoal and its White China Clay to help get out the toxins from the skin. Leaves skin feeling clean, pores cleared, and ready to take on the day a bit clearer. When my skin starts to feel a bit on the peeling/scaly side, I have been reaching for…
Step 2: Exfoliating – Mario Badescu Enzyme Revitalizing Mask is my go to for this one. Dosed with Papaya and Grapefruit Extracts this beauty is phenom. It gives the skin a good polish with loads of AHA’s {Alpha Hydroxy Acids} leaving that peeling/dry/scaly skin in the dust. This mask leaves skin glowing beautifully. It seriously has made my skin feel radiant and softer. You almost instantly see a difference. Throw it on for 20 minutes and wash with tepid water… and boom- scaly, dull skin be gone. To finish of this trio is adding a bit of hydration back into the skin, for that I have been reaching for the cult favorite…
Step 3: Hydration – Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask is one that hooks the skin up with massive amounts of hydration. I tend to use this when my skin is super parched and screaming for some moisture. It is a overnight mask that doses up the skin with the extra much needed hydration all while you are sleeping. Non- greasy, smells AH-MAZING and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin at all. Soaks into the skin quite nicely and doesn’t leave that annoying tacky feeling. You wake in the morning with skin feeling smooth, hydrated and plump. Voila!
Keep in mind I am not a skin care trained professional here, just a girl with a love for skin care and a serious Sunday pamper. Best bet is to proceed with caution and always at times google when needed. Looks like my weekend is planned out for me… And we proceed with step one…
