This month it’s a quick bunch of favorites- all newcomers to the complexion categories, a palette that has me seriously obsessed, and a nail polish that I am dying for more shades. So far this past month has been a good one. A few new discoveries as the weather is starting to amp up in to full blown Fall mode. So without much further ado, I bring you The Monthly Favorites: October Edition…
Kicking off the base of things in the complexion department is a re- introduction to a brand that I love for years in the hair care department. Aveda Botanical Kinetics Exfoliant– $20 USD, hands down is becoming a major favorite in the skincare area. This uber gentle exfoliant smells AH-MAZING as it wipes away the surface cells and promotes skin smoothness and clarity. It is super refreshing on the skin, and has done some serious unclogging of pores. Containing salicylic acid this toner works wonders and helps control current breakouts all while helping stop others before they start.
Moving into the makeup side of the complexion department I have two products that I am having some serious love with. Reviva Labs Makeup Primer**– $19.50USD, is hands down the BEST makeup primer I have ever tried. OMG- this product has some serious lasting power and wow, it makes your makeup look just seamless and flawless. It fills the lines in, hides the pores, and controls excess oil like a champ. I am seriously IN love with this product, as it can be worn with or without makeup. With makeup it helps staying power, application is just beautiful; while without makeup it helps give skin a airbrushed look of sheer beauty. I have been loving to pair the primer with Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Full Coverage Foundation– $38 USD, this foundation goes on smooth and creamy like a BB cream, but has lasting power and coverage of a foundation. Its oil-free and made of Amazonian Clay- which is supposed to help even skin and balance the skins oil production. Paired with the application of my trusty Sigma Beauty F24 Angled Kabuki Brush– $21 USD for seamless application. The great thing about the foundation is that the coverage is not quite full coverage but definitely more than medium coverage. It allows the skin to feel like it is breathing as well- major plus. Topped with a bit of concealer and a dash of powder- voila you are ready to take the world on looking natural and beautiful.
Rounding out the favorites is my serious go-t0 beauty palette at the moment. I praised it {here}; but seriously it’s an all in one. Eyes covered, lips and cheeks covered- what more can you ask for. This palette is one of the most amazing collaborations this year. On the nails this month, I have been wearing NAILS Inc Gel Effect Nail Polish in Kensington High Street – $14 USD. This darkened plum color is to DIE FOR, this gel effect formula is AH-MAZING!!! No fuss with the UV light, ultra gel like shine, and great staying power. The only downfall right now with this polish, is that there are only 4 shades, I seriously can’t wait for more. They are just brilliant. It might be a bit early for next month raves, but the shade in Porchester Square has been making its way on to my tips and I foresee a long lasting love affair. So there you have it, this month’s favorites- a bit of complexion perfection, a nail love and a bit of a on the go beauty must have. Until next month- I think it may contain a bit of drugstore loving….
