One night I was reading Caroline Hirons{skincare guru} and came across her quick snippet about how in the States we were finally getting a ‘Caroline seal of approval’ cleansing balm. Enter Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm– $28.50 USD. This product was released a while back so it is not new by any means. But it is however very, VERY new to me. I have used Clinique’s Take the Day Off eye makeup remover before and loved it, although my trust Clarins has since replaced it. But this is just something different as a whole. Housed in a large pretty, purple tube with a large silver screw on top- this product is to die for.
A hard white substance that is almost similar to that of coconut oil- scooped out into your hands melts into a light milky texture. It is fragrance free and of course- hypoallergenic. But it is also super, super gentle; it melts on skin into milky oil while effortlessly taking off every ounce of makeup {including waterproof}. I at first was a bit hesitant to try cleansing balms as my skin tends to be a bit on the oilier side at times, but this balm rinses so completely clean off of the skin without an residue or extra greasiness left at all. It is hands down PHENOMENAL!!!!
Priced at a very reasonable $28.50, this balm is very well thought out. You literally use about 2 pea size amounts to cover the entire face, so I am thinking that this tube of product will last an easy 6-8 months if not longer. However it is recommended to use prior to your usual cleanser regimen to ensure super cleanliness. I have started to really enjoy a dual cleansing each night. It doesn’t tug at the skin a-la makeup wipes, and it seriously takes every ounce of makeup off. Followed with my trust Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser and I say I have a bit of a nightly facial action going on. The best part for me is that it doesn’t disrupt my skin and cause breakouts. Thank goodness!!! After a massive breakout –still trying to figure out the culprit, I am a bit gun shy on new products. And thankfully this one doesn’t cause any unwelcome guests on my skin.
So there you have it. If you are pondering a purchase into the cleansing balm world, I highly, HIGHLY recommend the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm, affordable, super-efficient and worth every penny. If you are dry skinned, oily skinned, acne prone, basically any skin type- this one is AMAZING! It seriously has become a much needed addition into my cleansing routine. So this begs the question- Are you ready to Take the Day Off…..?
