I’ve had my eyes on the NARS ‘Rideup to the Moon’– $45 USD,palette for a few weeks now. I often tend to get googly eyed over palettes that look neutral, yet amazing- at times channeling my inner – I need to have it now complex. On a recent shopping trip to Nordstrom, I finally sucked it up and decided to take the plunge and scoop up the last palette in sight- I’d like to believe it was meant to be! Tracked down, purchased and in my hands; I took this beautiful Fall 2013 palette for a whirl- and let me tell you- it does NOT disappoint at all; you can thank me later. I now introduce the NARS ‘Ride up to the Moon’ palette in full Fall season force….
This palette seemed to be released to the US, the beginning-mid July. A smoky neutral palette, to replace the sold out ‘And God Created the Woman’ palette- beautifully rich in a vast array of neutral colors; this palette is absolutely stunning. Made up of six eye shadows- a perfect blend of permanent single eye shadow shades, duo eye shadow shades and a limited edition shade- this palette is phenomenal. The colors blend beautifully, and are rich in pigment. Slap on a bit of primer underneath and you got yourself a bit of instant neutral smoky eye perfection- score!!!
Time for a shade break down- from top to bottom, left to right we have: Argentina–limited edition- a metallic gold similar to that of MAC Retrospeck; Isolde– found in duo shadow set- a frosted ginger; Night Porter– permanent single shade-a beautiful black with green pearl ; Biarritz– permanent single shade-a matte like neutral cream colored beige; Fez-permanent single shade– a velvety cocoa color-reminding me of MAC Mulch; and Cordura– found in duo shadow set- a shimmery sooty dark brown. My top picks from the palette? Obsessed with Isolde– as I can see my sweeping this over my lids daily for a bit of a fall eye color loving; with a side of Fez– blended into the crease. If I am feeling a bit daring I can see a rotation between Cordura and Night Porter for a bit of eyeliner action or to oomph up the eyes and go dark and daring.
If you are in the market for a bit of a splurge and are itching to add a new Fall release to your existing makeup palettes, then this is for you. Time to start stowing away the nude palettes and welcoming a bit of a neutral smoky eye action- I promise you wont be disappointed. Packed full of a pigmented punch, topped with rich shades of Fall; this palette is limited edition so you may just have to walk- better yet RUN to your nearest NARS counter.
