Is it just me, or does every brand left and right seem to be launching some AMAZING new lipstick and blush ranges? Literally it feels like every week I am falling in love with a new color product, so recently when I was asked to head to the Clinique counter and meet with Clinique Beauty Educator Sandra Beltran, I was intrigued to see what goodies they added to their expanding color line up- and boy was I in for a surprise…

When it comes to Clinique, I often tend to forget all about their makeup offerings as I always think of them as the go-to standard when it comes to skincare. Raise your hand if a Clinique 3 step was your first skin care regimen courtesy of Mom? *Hand raised high over here* I remember when I turned old enough to start wearing makeup my mom took me to the Clinique counter to get color matched for my very first compact. Every time I see the sleek mint green compact packaging I have a wonderful memory of heading to the Clinique counter to pick out my first compact. When meeting with Sandra we discussed a few of my skincare concerns and preferences. Which if you haven’t been to a Clinique counter lately, you need to RUN and visit one ASAP. Sit down and get a skincare consultation that is accompanied with a thorough explanation of products, concerns, preventative measures as well as a mini skincare facial- trust me its awesome!

Sandra and I also talked about beauty – my favorite thing ever– and how to incorporate some color into my everyday beauty staples. When it came to color the one thing Sandra said I needed to try where the new and ever so amazingly cute Clinique Pop Lip Colour+ Primer*- $18 USD. Witty in their name and dosed with a gorgeous pop of color, these two in one lipsticks are pure perfection. 16 beautiful shades available ranging from a gorgeous array of nudes, pinks, corals, and violets the shades in the collection are 100% fragrance free and allergy tested. The texture on these beauties is unlike no other. The Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer* are similar in consistency almost to that of a lip balm, but are packed with some solid staying power thanks to being infused with a primer and lip color. Enriched with a blend of Shea and Murmur butter so they are ultra hydrating and comfortable on the lips while the blend of flexible polymers keep the color bright, vibrant and vivid. The packaging is simple and sleek with the silver square shaped lid and the bottom of the packaging has the color you are looking to wear. Trust me this is AMAZING when you are searching in your handbag- or never ending black hole, as I like to call it. Trust me it’s a total timesaver!

If you aren’t sure where to start I have compiled a list of a few basics to help when choosing the right color to go with your skin tone:

• Fair Skin toned Beauties: Reach for a bright shade like Poppy Pop, Bare Pop, Sweet Pop, Cherry Pop, Wow Pop or Sweet Pop.
• Medium Skin toned Beauties: Go for a beautiful nude like Beige Pop or reach for a bright and bold shade like Punch Pop, Love Pop, Grape Pop or Poppy Pop.
• Dark Skin toned Gals: A great shade addition to your lipstick collection would be Passion Pop, Cola Pop, Grape Pop, Berry Pop, Melon Pop or Plum Pop.

Now as you all know I am a HUGE person that chills in the neutral zone, however Sandra convinced me to start venturing out and reaching for a bright shade a la Punch Pop or a bright melon red shade a la Poppy Pop– and oh my goodness let me just say I am HOOKED. Now don’t get me wrong, I still am grabbing my Beige Pop for a subtle everyday beauty look, but I can honestly say these bright shades will be making a solid standard in my lipstick wardrobe. I am seriously AMAZED at how much pigment these lipsticks have as well, a nice light swipe can leave lips with a beautiful smudged on stain, or you can pack on the pigment and dose the lips with a punch of color by applying, blotting and layering again. Either way you choose to wear it, the results are simply stunning and you be itching to grab them all- I know I sure am…
