This week Makeup Life Love does holiday. Three posts detailing my top beauty picks for the upcoming holiday festivities. Today it’s time to talk about holiday nails. Nothing says December like a good dose of Single Layer Reds, stay tuned for the details…
One of my all time favorite finds as of late have been one coat red nail polishes. Formulas that are not streaky, and are opaque within one coat. Quick and easy, and a solid punch of festive to the nail beds in under five minutes. Everyone knows that when looking at a vamp berry or a bubbly red, its often hard to find one that coats the nails perfectly and has you out the door in a flash. No streaks, minimal effort, and a solid does of holiday- these are a few of my recent favorites for you:

Essie Shearling Darling– $8 USD– this plush ebony red is the perfect red for the ladies that are looking for a in-between-er. Slightly deep, darkened red with a side of vamp berry. In some lights it looks a tad like a perfect blend of red and a burnt mahogany. One solo coat, and does the job in record time. The perfect winter red, if you’re afraid of bright shades.
Essie Toggle to the Top– $8 USD- this crushed garnet red with red sparkle is hands down my current favorite. One coat of this glittery infused red, and you will be ready for the New Year. Slightly Christmas ready red with a side of New Year’s Eve shimmer. This red will be donning my nails as we count down the New Year for sure.
Nails Inc. Gel Effect in Kensington High Street– $14 USD- this ultra glossy darkened berry red shade is one of current go-to’s. The shiniest of the bunch, its one coat is opaque and dries within moments of application; followed with a gorgeous shine effect mimicking of the Gel nail. This is one of those formulas that is just ah-mazingness in a bottle. The brush is thick and gets the job done quickly. I am obsessed with these polishes and cant wait for the line to expand into many more. It’s a current favorite and if we fast forward with more colors, I can see them making a huge splash into the favorites…hmmmm… We will have to see.
There you have it, today’s dose of holiday cheer. Same time tomorrow… I foresee Holiday makeup saviors…
