So as you all know I have become a bit of a skincare obsessed, product junkie. To state that my skincare shelf has gotten a bit full, is a HUGE understatement. As much as I am trying to make it a bit of a exclusive club, it seems to get harder and harder with all the amazing launches that arrive at what seems to be daily- the struggle is real my friend… With each season and a year old *sheds a slight tear* I have started to try and dwindle down the amount of products I lather on my skin day in, day out. With that being said, there are a few new-ish items that have started to gain daily traction and bring themselves into the skincare line up, here are the deets…
First up, probably the most talked about cleanser to launch this year. Glam Glow SUPERCLEANSE Daily Clearing Cleanser– $39 USD, is something that I have started to use in the morning and OH MY GOODNESS, it is rocking my world. The phenomenal mud to foam cleanser helps remove makeup, impurities and literally leaves skin so clean and free from pore clogging debris. I am obsessed with this cleanser and the semi-tingling action it gives my skin while I am massaging it into the skin. A HUGE fan of the cleanser, I was a bit hesitant at first about this cleanser- as $39 is a bit on the pricey side of things. However I am so happy I took the plunge and snagged this baby- it was the last bottle on the shelf at my local Sephora. After a few hormonal breakouts lately, I am thinking this super cleansing mud will help bring my skin back into to tiptop shape ASAP. Time will tell if this cleanser will make it into the long lasting line up of Holy Grail products that remain in the skincare club, however, if things stay the way they are- it is well on its way- review and update to come soon.
Next up is a mini mask trio that I grabbed on a bit of a whim at Sephora recently. The lady next to me in the skincare section was talking about her need for a mask that would help detoxify her skin but was formulated for sensitive skin- the salesgirl stated how she was OBSESSED with the Peter Thomas Roth line and how the masks were absolutely amazing. So after browsing through the section and taking her advice I decided to try the Peter Thomas Roth Mini Mask Magic Kit-$20 USD. This Mini Mask Trio Kit is comprised of the top 3 popular masks all formulated to help detoxify, repair and polish the skin. The set contains the Cucumber Gel Mask– to help soothe, hydrate and detoxify dry and irritated skin. The Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask– contains cutting edge plant technology that helps replicate the perfect rose stem cells to help the skin with maximum age repair. And the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask– is a super effective exfoliating treatment that helps dull, aging and congested skin. What an AMAZING trio for only $20 right? So far I have used the Cucumber Mask and the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask and can totally see why Peter Thomas Roth is AWESOME! Both of the masks I have tried have been seriously hands down so phenomenal they have made a spot on my MUST NEED list, and I cannot wait to test out the Rose Mask now- masks are my weakness.
Last up of the new additions is Philosophy Take A Deep Breath Oil-Free Energizing Oxygen Gel Cream Moisturizer–$37 USD. I ran out of my favorite moisturizer {Origins Ginzing Gel Moisturizer} and with the weather kicking up a bit into wackiness, I decided to test out something new. A few things made me just jump at this moisturizer: First- I LOVE a gel moisturizer and how it is ultra lightweight and on the skin just feels light and airy. Second- I was intrigued with the fact that this moisturizer would revitalize and protect the skin against environmental factors like: pollution, sun and smog all while the moisturizer contains a unique blend of energizing oxygen that helps detoxify the skin and support cell respiration. Third- this moisturizer when I put it on my hand left my skin ultra soft and glowing without being greasy. Plus the fact that the moisturizer has NO SPF- I knew I needed it ASAP. I know what you are thinking- why not a SPF, Jamie? Well I have been looking for a good moisturizer that I can use both day and night if possible- so far I have been using this both day and night and I am loving the results- this might be a keeper.
So those are 3 new items added to the skincare stash, or shall I say 5 new items if you break the masks into 3. Full capacity may have been reached, so for now it is a ‘two in, one out’ kind of situation- that is until the next big thing…. Have you been testing out any new skincare bits lately?
