I am not sure that I have ever been so excited about a drugstore find. Lip balms are always considered a winner in my eyes, second coming in lipsticks, and glosses sometimes are not even on the radar – as they are too sticky at times {MAC I am talking to you}. However after reading an article from Tammie about the new Almay Lip Lip Balm’s, I knew I need to try them A.S.A.P! And boy did they not disappoint… Wet your lips ladies and gents cause there is a new lip balm in town…
On the outside they look just like any other usual lipgloss. Housed in a tube, with a sponge tipped applicator, many hues of color to choose from. However on the inside is pure genius… A liquid lip balm that has a great tint of sheer color. Never sticky, not gloopy. Just a squeal of amazingness as you apply to your lips. The application lasts about 2-3 hours depending on what you are doing {eating, drinking, etc..}. They have no shimmer- a great option and one that I tend to love. They are just brilliantly great and extremely beautiful on. I like to call it instant love, as I am seeing a slight comparison to my beloved Clarins Natural Lip Perfectors, just at a huge, and I mean HUGE fraction of the cost. They are priced at about $4.99 USD, and at times you can find them for a buy one, get one at 50% off kind of deal. Can you say AMAZING price!
They come in a about 10 colors at the moment, I currently have 4 and plan on getting them all. There is Cantaloupe Cream which is a slightly dead ringer for Clarins Apricot Shimmer with just a tad more color to it. Rose Lipped is my current fave as it falls into that “your lips but better” category mixed with a hint of nude. Nudetrients I often reach for when I want a sheer wash of pale baby pink, and Truffle Kiss reminds me exactly of Clarins Rosewood. All and all, I am extremely excited about these products and can see them starting to gain major daily usage in my makeup arsenal. Hands down one the best budget buys to date. As I write this, I am envisioning a stop at the local drugstore this afternoon to snag a few more. I say make them a top priority…
