Last week I had the pleasure of attending my first conference of this year. Hosted at the LA Mart, I joined 150 lifestyle, beauty, food and mommy bloggers at the Fourth Annual Lifestyle Blogger Conference. Two full days of great things and so much helpful information to absorb, this conference rocked! Brought forth by the SoCal Lady Bloggers + The Latina Lifestyle Bloggers, the conference kicked into full gear and hear is a quick recap of what happened….
The morning started with some delicious coffee brought to you by Stumptown Coffee Roasters, then the conference kicked into full gear and dove right into the blogger goodness. Day One consisted of:
- Networking for Bloggers in Social Media- where the panel consisted of an vast array of tips on how to connect to your audience via your social media channels. Some useful tips and apps to help keep you connected.
- Legal 101 for Bloggers where Attorney Rosa Elena Sahagun told us when it comes to contracts it is best to always follow things up with an email stating what you discussed to ensure that all terms and conditions are clear and agreed upon.
- Digital Strategy to Promote and Grow Your Blog which helped give us some useful tips in just being true to you and always sticking to being you, its the best way to incorporate your online self with your offline self.
- And a lovely tour of the LA Mart- Which can I just say is AH-MAZING!!!!
Day One was capped off with a Blogger Happy Hour sponsored by Heinken USA.
Day Two started off with a keynote from the uber gorgeous Patricia Velasquez who is super gorgeous by the way! She gave a phenomenal keynote speak about always being true to you and how in life you always learn from both the good and the bad. Followed by a panel full of bloggers:
- Not Just A Blogger with some lovely ladies: The Curvy Fashionista, Norah Loves Makeup, Veronica Glam and Mariane Loves Food. These ladies gave some awesome tips on blogging in general, helping build your audience and how to help grow your blog.
- Search Engine Optimization-where we were taught how to keep your page search, page rank and enhance the Google algorithm to benefit you and your blog.
- Taxes Do’s and Dont’s – Which was super helpful in what you can + can’t write off, as well as what the differences between LLC, Corporations, Partnerships were. Super useful and helpful information.
- and the final panel of Ethics of Blogging- which focused on the do’s and don’ts of bashing others, being misleading, and character defamation. This panel was very heartfelt with some struggles and real life occurrences of blogs being stolen, copy write issues, and more..
Let me just say WOW- so many wonderful ladies filled with such useful tips, that I for one plan to embrace and practice. I made some awesome new blogging friends, have a few collaborations in the works that I am super excited about. During the conference most of us were tweeting away, and let me just when you tell bloggers to tweet- oh do they tweet– we were trending on twitter and hit 67 million impressions… Whooohooo!!!
All and all, I am sooooo excited that I attendeLALLBLOG14 and seriously cant wait for LALLBLOG15 to come. So much to look forward to next year…
