As we all know lately the whole “no makeup, makeup look” is super in. Something about natural looking bases, effortless bronze color, with a slightly nude, peachy-pink lip just makes you feel a bit more chic when it comes to taking on summer beauty; although a bright and bold lip will always have a soft spot in my heart. After weeks of rocking a slightly brighter and bolder lip, I have decided to venture back into my neutral zone territory. Recently I was at my local Target cruising through the beauty section naturally, and I walked by the e.l.f. cosmetics section. Literally within minutes, visions of bronze summer beauty started to jump through my head and of course you all know me — I do LOVE a great bronzy look. After scouring through the e.l.f. cosmetics section and grabbing some solid swoon-worthy items, I decided to go a bit matchy, matchy with this look — and I must say, I quite like it and it is super easy to attain.
FOR THE BASE:
Prep the skin with your favorite base. I have been reaching for a blend of the Laniege Cushion BB in Medium and the Pacifica Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream for a dewy and luminous base that lasts all day long. Followed with a light sweeping of the e.l.f. cosmetics Studio Perfect Finish HD Powder– $6 USD to help alleviate any shine and set my base in my T-zone and other areas — I tend to get a bit oily by mid day.
FOR THE FACE:
To achieve the perfect matchy, matchy bronze skin look, I grabbed hands down one of my favorite items EVER, the e.l.f. cosmetics Studio Bronzer in Golden Bronze– $3 USD. This “ back from the beach” honey hued bronzing quadrant without much shimmer is simply amazing. Applying the bronzer in all the right spots that the sun naturally hits is sheer perfect. I applied to the tops of my temples, a light swipe across the nose, a bit over the cheeks for a nice glow, and across the chin. Followed with a product that was literally love at first site, the e.l.f. cosmetics Studio Baked Blush in Pinktastic– $3, this is seriously one of the BEST highlighters that I have found in long time, and the price — holy cow — I have decided I need more of them ASAP. This adds a nice ounce of illuminating oomph to the skin when applied on the tops of the cheekbones, top of the brow bones and down the center of the nose and cupids bow for a nice “lite within look”. Hands down the star of the complexion color is the e.l.f. cosmetics Studio Blush Palette in Light– $6. It is by far the most pigmented and versatile palette I have found in forever. It literally rivals some of the high-end brands in shade selections and I am OBSESSED. In the light palette I used the top right shade, which is a brownish shade mixed with a pinky coral that has just the right dose of golden shimmer to it. It actually melts into the skin and gives you that ‘healthy’ vibe mimicking where the sun naturally hits the top of the cheekbones. It’s an understated bronzy nude glow that I just LOVE.
FOR THE EYES:
The eyes were kept very simple and slightly the most amount of drama that this look has to offer. On the brows – cause you know how I feel about brows, I kept things well kept and streamlined with a bit of the e.l.f. cosmetics Studio Brow Kit in shade Medium– $3 USD. This brow kit hands down is phenomenal. One part pigmented powder with a slight waxy feel and the other side is a gel like pomade that helps keep brows in their place without ever moving- literally. It is a MUST have. For the lids I reached for the e.l.f. cosmetics Studio Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in shade Gala– $3 USD, this part drama, part whipped gel like cream base really helps keep the eye makeup on ALL DAY long. The shade Gala is like a dark bronzy brown that adds the right amount of drama to the lids while easily blending out for a high-pigmented copper shade that is just gorgeous. Topped with the multi-tasking e.l.f. cosmetics Studio Bronzer in Golden Bronze– $3 USD. I used all the shades on the golden bronze quadrant to achieve an easy subtle bronze eye. Lined the eyes with the e.l.f. cosmetics Studio Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in shade Gala, and added two coats of my favorite mascara — currently it is the NYX Boudoir Collection Mascara-Faux Lash– $5.99 — to help add some extra oomph to the eyes and hold the curl on the lashes.
FOR THE LIPS:
Keeping in the pinky peach bronze shade I grabbed the e.l.f. cosmetics Studio Lip Balm SPF 15 in Nude– $3 USD , it is heaven on your lips. It might not look like much in the tube, but this perfect blend of pigment mixed with hydration and sun protection is brilliant. It leaves the lips in a gorgeous bronzy nude shade. Topped with a bit of e.l.f. cosmetics Studio Matte Lip Color in Coral– $3 USD, is like the perfect, blend for a pinky bronzy, barely there lip. Instant love, right? Bronzy, peach lip- sheer subtle perfection ladies.
So there you have it, the tips to achieving ‘the makeup, no makeup look’ mixed with a side of matchy, matchy tan perfection. A bit of well-placed color in the right spots, a slight ever-luminous ounce of the newest beauty trend ‘strobing’, followed with a new favorite lip that can be reminiscent of a downplayed Kylie Jenner 90’s throwback shade. I think I may have just nailed this color coordinating monodramtic look, easy to achieve in less than 10 minutes flat- summer beauty never seemed so easy…
Have you tried the whole Monodramatic beauty look? If so, did you keep it bronzy and glowing? Or did you turn up the color? Let me know in the comments below…

LOVE e.l.f. products; their brushes cannot be beat for the price. I also love the HD powder; that’s the last thing that goes on my face to seal it all in and I love the look it gives!
